Full Itinerary: Machu Picchu Family Tour + Sacred Valley

After departing from Cusco, our bus will transport us to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing by landmarks such as Sacsayhuaman and Tambomachay.

As we journey across the high plains and descend towards Pisaq, nestled along the banks of the sacred Urubamba River, we’ll have ample opportunity to explore the bustling market and perhaps purchase some keepsakes.

Continuing our excursion, we’ll ascend to the Inca ruins of Pisaq, where a sprawling complex of temples, residential areas, tunnels, and terraced agriculture awaits, offering panoramic vistas of the Sacred Valley below.

A tourist takes a picture of Pisac's agricultural terraces.

Following our exploration of Pisaq, we’ll head to the serene town of Urubamba for a satisfying lunch. Subsequently, we’ll board the tourist train for approximately 1.5 hours, tracing a scenic route through a narrow valley alongside the Urubamba River.

Subsequently, we’ll arrive at Machu Picchu’s town (also called Aguas Calientes), after that, we’ll have the rest of the day to explore the surroundings and to rest for the visit to Machu Picchu on the following day.

  • Accommodation: Hotel (1 night).
  • Meals Included: Lunch.

Embark on an enriching journey to Machu Picchu with your children, an experience that promises to be the highlight of your South American adventure.

Nestled atop a rugged hill, shrouded in lush forest and overlooking the majestic Urubamba River, Machu Picchu remained concealed for centuries beneath the dense canopy of cloud forest vegetation. It wasn’t until the intrepid American explorer, Hiram Bingham, stumbled upon its ancient ruins in 1911, that this awe-inspiring citadel was brought back into the world’s consciousness.

Today, Machu Picchu stands as a testament to the ingenuity and architectural prowess of the ancient Inca civilization.

Immerse yourself in its mystical aura as you traverse its well-preserved pathways, marvel at its intricate stonework, and drink in the breathtaking vistas that surround you. It’s a sight that will leave an indelible mark on your family’s memory.

After a day of exploration and discovery, board the afternoon train bound for Ollantaytambo, where you can relax and reflect on the wonders you’ve encountered. But the journey doesn’t end here. As evening falls, you’ll return to Cusco to finalize with our services.
